Welcome to the first edition of “The Happy Grabbie” (the first of many, we hope), a series of reviews written by you, our wonderful customers.
Last weekend, we sent the lovely Megan – a super passionate and somewhat secret agent-like Grabbie – off to have a whale of a time at Amicus Restaurant in Cork. She enjoyed a recent GrabOne deal – €17 for Tapas for 2, 2 Glasses of Wine and 2 Affogatos – and took lots of lovely snaps of it too!
Here’s how she got on
Mission Parameters: Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is detailed in the attached coupon, simply print it out and follow the instructions.
After printing out the coupon, I stopped by Amicus and made a reservation for the next night and mentioned that it was the GrabOne deal. The start of the mission could not have been easier, the restaurant knew exactly what I was talking about and were extremely accommodating.
Upon arrival the following night, we handed them our mission parameters (our GrabOne coupon!) and were whisked upstairs to our candlelit table for two. It is a cozy set up, not too crowded, with plenty of ambience in the modern layout accented with purple, teal and black fabrics.
We were offered either red or white wine, and opted instead for two cokes, which the restaurant had no problem with. Then the antipasti platter came out, decadently laid out with at least 10 different meats, 2 types of crostini, salads, olives, hummus and chicken liver pate, accompanied by a generous basket of bread. The platter was ingeniously set on a turntable, so we could spin the night away, and spin we did savoring each delectable morsel.
I was somewhat skeptical that a platter of appetizers could serve as a meal, however after we practically inhaled the platter, we were definitely satisfied. The Affogato for dessert was a perfect contrast to the platter, with a light scoop of vanilla ice cream with an espresso. Overall, it was an excellent evening of fine dining that any passionate Grabbie would enjoy!
Mission Accomplished!
Mmmmm drool… ehem. Excuse me. Feel like getting in on the Happy Grabbie action? Have a gander here and see how you can join in too.
